Purpose: To improve the knowledge and competency or performance of the practitioner in the diagnosis, treatment and management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

1. Recognize the typical and atypical symptoms of GERD.
2. Identify current and emerging therapeutic strategies for GERD.
3. Discuss the management of GERD, particularly in older patients.
