Presentation Title: Prevention of Osteoporosis
Dr. Ho will summarize data on how the Chinese diet and lifestyle could affect the risk for osteoporosis and issues encountered in osteoporosis screening and prevention for Chinese patients.
Time: Saturday Afternoon
Purpose:
To improve on the clinical competence and performance in the prrevention of osteoporosis in Chinese patients
Objectives:
- Examine the risk factors for osteoporosis in Chinese patients
- Identify patients at risk for developing osteoporosis
- Incorporate medical approaches to primary and secondary prevention of osteoporosis
- Apply current U.S.Preventive Task Force Guidelines on osteoporosis screening
- Educate patients the importance of dietary pattern and life style changes to prevent osteoporosis
